Carrot & Kale Chips Recipe

While I don't think anything could replace my love for McDonald's fries, there are some foods that come close. I used to have a dangerous addiction to potato chips, what I loved about it was the crispiness and saltiness and then I realised that I could replicate this in healthier options. This is my recipe for Carrot and Kale chips.

Ingredients:
Carrots
Kale
Olive Oil
Salt & Pepper
Wash and prepare your raw ingredients; wash and peel your carrots, and cut them up into your desired size and shape. Do beware however, if it's too thick it may not cook as well.
Wash your kale and tear into bite size pieces.

Toss in olive oil (1-2 tablespoons) and season with salt & pepper.
Place your ingredients on a tray lined with baking paper.
Bake your vegetables at about 180°C.
My kale chips took about 5 minutes, and the carrot sticks took about 12 minutes. Just watch them and make sure they're not burning!
Voila!

My carrot chips didn't turn out as crispy as I would like unfortunately, I think I cut them too thick! The kale chips, however, were absolutely delicious to me. but I think it does have that 'healthy' taste to it that not everybody can stomach! Nonetheless, if you do try it, I really hope you would let me know what you think of it! Enjoy!

  1. I tried my first kale smoothie a couple days ago, and it was absolutely delicious! Lesson learned: don't just a smoothie by it's color. :)

    1. Actually, kale (and spinach) in smoothies is hardly noticeable at all! Try it in there, it's honestly not as scary as I thought it would be! Haha!

    1. Yes! Although I've tried with sweet potato before, and they are so hard to cut up! Haha! The carrots actually slightly tasted and smelled like sweet potato fries. If you have a go, let me know what you think!

  8. My Mom made Kale chips a while ago and they were not my favorite. I think the taste is something you have to get used to, but if you can get used to it it's so good for you!

    1. Yeah! Like I said, not everybody likes that 'healthy food' taste which I can understand, I used to hate it too! Haha! But once I trained myself to like it, I crave it!
